The Natural History Museum in London has a lot of specimens in its collections.
About 80 million of them, in fact.
Over 4 million of those have already been digitised and are available to explore via the Museum's Data Portal. To celebrate reaching the 4 million specimens milestone, and to show the diversity of even such a small portion of our collection, we recreated a painting of Carl Linnaeus using images from the Data Portal.
